5 days from Fez to the desert, ending in Marrakech

Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

We depart early from Fez heading south, passing through the charming town of Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its architecture and cool climate. We will visit the Azrou cedar forest, where you can encounter Barbary macaques living freely.

Continuing through the spectacular Ziz Valley, an oasis of palm groves leading us straight to the desert. We arrive in Merzouga at sunset to start a camel trek toward the Erg Chebbi dunes, where we will witness an unforgettable sunset.

Dinner and overnight stay at a traditional Berber desert camp under the stars.

Day 2: Sunrise in the Desert – Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges

After watching the sunrise over the dunes, we return to Merzouga for breakfast and then head to Rissani, a historic city and former capital of southern Morocco. Here you can explore traditional markets and learn about its rich history.

The journey continues to the impressive Todra Gorges, where towering rock walls reach up to 300 meters. Enjoy a walk or simply admire the majestic scenery.

Overnight stay in traditional accommodation in the Todra Valley.

Day 3: Todra Valley – Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, we set off to the Dades Valley, known as the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs.” We’ll explore its rocky formations and picturesque villages.

Next, we visit Skoura, famous for its oasis and historic kasbahs — a perfect stop for lunch and exploration.

We finish the day in Ouarzazate, the “Gateway to the Desert,” where we visit the Taourirt Kasbah and optionally, the famous film studios.

Overnight at a hotel or riad in Ouarzazate.

Day 4: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Tizi n’Tichka Pass – Marrakech

Today we visit the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the filming location for many famous movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

Afterwards, we cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying breathtaking panoramic views.

We arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon, where you can enjoy free time to explore the city at your own pace.

Day 5: Marrakech – Free Day and Farewell

On the final day, take the opportunity to discover Marrakech, including Jemaa el-Fna Square, traditional souks, Majorelle Gardens, or the Bahia Palace.

Depending on your schedule, transfer to the airport or station to conclude your trip.
