Each stage is designed to immerse you in the history, gastronomy, traditions, and hospitality of the Moroccan people.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Tangier – Brief Visit – Chefchaouen
We begin our adventure in Tangier, a port city that has served as a crossroads of cultures for centuries. Enjoy a panoramic tour including Cape Spartel, the Cave of Hercules, the Grand Socco, and the Kasbah.
Later, we head into the Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, Morocco’s most famous blue town. We stroll through its cobbled streets and stay overnight in a traditional riad.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Free Day to Explore
Enjoy a full day to explore Chefchaouen at your own pace—its viewpoints, fountains, artisan shops, and relaxed atmosphere. We recommend a walk up to the Spanish Mosque at sunset for an unforgettable view over the town and surrounding mountains.
Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez
We head south to visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, with its well-preserved columns, temples, and mosaics.
Then, we explore Meknes, a former imperial city, visiting Bab Mansour Gate, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the royal granaries.
In the afternoon, we arrive in Fez, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual capital. Dinner and overnight in a traditional riad.
Day 4: Fez – Guided City Tour
Discover Fez el-Bali, the oldest and best-preserved medina in Morocco. Highlights include the Al Quaraouiyine University, the Attarine Madrasa, Chouara Tannery, Nejjarine Fountain, and artisan workshops.
Free time in the afternoon to wander the souks. Second night in Fez.
Day 5: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
After breakfast, we begin our journey south, passing through Ifrane (known as the “Moroccan Switzerland”) and the cedar forest of Azrou, home to wild Barbary macaques.
We continue through the Ziz Valley, filled with vast palm groves, and reach Merzouga on the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Overnight in a riad facing the desert.
Day 6: Merzouga – Nomadic Villages – Khamlia – Camel Trek and Desert Camp
Full day exploring the desert region: visit nomadic families, fossil mines, and the Gnawa village of Khamlia for a performance of their traditional music.
In the late afternoon, enjoy a magical camel ride to your camp nestled in the dunes. Dinner under the stars and overnight in a traditional or luxury Berber tent.
Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Wake up early for the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, visit Rissani, birthplace of Morocco’s Alaouite dynasty, and its traditional market.
We continue to the Todra Gorges, dramatic 300-meter-high canyons ideal for walking and photography.
Then we head to the Dades Valley for an overnight stay in a hotel surrounded by mountains and kasbahs.
Day 8: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, we drive through the scenic Dades Valley towards Ouarzazate, passing through the Valley of Roses, famous for its rose-based cosmetics and perfumes.
In Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa”, we visit the Taourirt Kasbah and Atlas Film Studios, where numerous international films were shot.
Day 9: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Telouet – High Atlas – Marrakech
In the morning we explore the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and filming location for movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
Then, we take a lesser-known route to the historic Telouet Kasbah, former residence of Pasha El Glaoui.
We cross the Tizi n’Tichka pass through the High Atlas Mountains and arrive in Marrakech by evening.
