The 6-day tour from Casablanca to Fez and the desert is an itinerary designed for those who wish to immerse themselves in the cultural richness of Morocco, explore its imperial cities, and experience the magic of the Sahara. This trip combines history, nature, and adventure, traversing varied landscapes from the Atlantic coast to the vast dunes of the desert.
Itinerary
Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fez
We start in Casablanca, the most modern and cosmopolitan city in the country, where we will visit the iconic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most beautiful in the world.
We continue towards Rabat, the administrative capital, with stops at the Kasbah of the Udayas, the Hassan Tower, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V.
Afterwards, we head to Meknes, another imperial city, where we will explore its walls, the monumental Bab Mansour gate, and its vibrant medina.
We ended the day in Fez, the oldest city in Morocco and a true living museum.
Day 2: Fez – Guided Tour of the Medina
We dedicated the day to exploring the ancient medina of Fez, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will visit the famous Medersa Bou Inania, the Al Quaraouiyine University, the traditional souks, the artisan workshops, and the tanners.
The experience in Fez is unique for understanding Moroccan tradition and culture, with its labyrinthine streets and ancient architecture.
Day 3: Fez – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley
We left early for Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its architecture and cool climate.
Continue towards Midelt, crossing the Middle Atlas massif, and visit the cedar forest of Azrou, where Barbary macaques live.
We arrived at the Ziz Valley, a spectacular oasis with endless palm groves leading into the desert. Night at a hotel in the area.
Day 4: Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Desert)
After breakfast, we crossed over to Erfoud, known as the gateway to the desert.
We continue towards Merzouga, where the adventure in the Erg Chebbi desert awaits us. Camel ride at sunset to watch the sunset over the dunes.
Dinner and night in a traditional Berber camp under the stars of the Sahara.
Day 5: Sunrise in the Desert – Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges
Waking up early to enjoy the sunrise on the dunes and returning for breakfast.
Visit Rissani, a historic city with traditional markets.
We continue towards the impressive Todra Gorges, where the rocky walls rise majestically.
Night in traditional accommodation in the area.
Day 6: Todra Gorges – Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
On this last day, we began by touring the Dades Valley, known as the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs,” with its unique landscapes and rock formations.
We passed through Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert, and visited the Kasbah Taourirt.
Finally, we crossed the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass to reach Marrakech, the red city, where our tour ends.
