Itinerary: 5 Days Casablanca to Zagora

Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Fez

We begin our journey in Casablanca, Morocco’s most modern and cosmopolitan city. We will make a brief visit to iconic landmarks such as the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in the country.

Next, we continue to Rabat, the administrative and cultural capital, where we will explore the Kasbah of the Udayas, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Hassan Tower.

Then we head to Meknes, an imperial city known for its impressive walls and the famous Bab Mansour Gate.

A few kilometers from Meknes, we visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can step back in time and admire ancient mosaics and structures.

Finally, we arrive in Fez for the night — a millenary city full of history and tradition.

Day 2: Fez – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud

We depart early from Fez toward Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine climate and architecture.

We continue through the Middle Atlas mountain range with stops to enjoy the scenery and visit the Azrou cedar forest, home to the Barbary macaques.

Next, we travel through the spectacular Ziz Valley, famous for its endless palm groves and oases.

We end the day in Erfoud, the gateway to the desert, where we rest and prepare for the upcoming desert adventure.

Day 3: Erfoud – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi Dunes – Zagora Desert

The morning starts with a transfer to Merzouga, home to the famous Erg Chebbi dunes, where you will enjoy a unique Sahara experience. We will take a camel ride at sunset to admire the endless dunes and a memorable desert sunset.

Afterwards, we continue south toward the Zagora Desert, a quieter and less touristy desert area with equally stunning beauty.

Overnight stay in a traditional desert camp with a Berber dinner under a starry sky.

Day 4: Zagora Desert – Tamegroute Oasis – Draa Valley

At dawn, enjoy the calm and changing colors of the desert before breakfast at the camp.

We will visit the Tamegroute Oasis, famous for its green pottery and ancient Quranic library.

Then we continue exploring the Draa Valley, one of the longest and most fertile valleys in southern Morocco, with its palm groves and adobe kasbahs.

Overnight stay in a traditional riad in Zagora or nearby.

Day 5: Zagora – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
